My big want at the moment is a huge external HDD. I need at least 1TB and will go up to 2TB if the price is right.

Still trying to find the best deal on any type of external HDD setup. I can build my own 1TB with the Antec MX-1 case(which I really like - I have one now) for 120.00 complete with a nice WD drive which I might do as it's the same setup I already have.

call me crazy but can you actually use a 3.5" drive in a 2.5" case? That would be a great deal though as that WD drive is great.

I might end up going for it anyway since the case is technically only $0.50. I have some 120GB 2.5" laptop drives around here somewhere that could use a case.

The adapter is a 2.5" it says which fits smaller laptop hard drives. The hard drive it is comboed with is a 3.5" desktop hard drive.
That's gay as hell

I think I'm going to go with the WD 1.5TB drive from above as it's only 10.00 more than the 1TB I was going to get from Amazon. I'll stick with the Antec MX-1 case as it's on sale for 40.00(it's a great case that's fan cooled) unless I find something cheaper that has great reviews since I don't want this drive to run any hotter than it has to.

The only thing (if you care) is I believe the green drive spins at 5400 rpm to make it use less power and be quieter. It will be a little slower than a 7800 rpm drive.

That won't bother me really as it's mainly just for movie/mp3 dumps.

OK, I purchased the 1.5TB drive from newegg. Thanks for that link dan. 

I'm still deciding on the case but it's between the Antec and the one posted above. I'll probably try the Rosewill though.
