Radiator cap for Cougar
Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner for Cougar
Woke up this morning to go take the car to get a front end alignment, got my coffee then started to take a shit but instead of finding a working place to poop I found the toilet valve broken.
So anyways I go to get the car front end aligned and they tell me they can't do it because the frame is bent a little right where they do the adjusting so fuck it. I don't know how much that will be to get it straightened out but it's just pulling a little to the left so screw it for now, all I do is mainly drive it to work and back 5 miles max. They also tell me I have a coolant leak and show me underneath the car that's it is dripping from up above. Great

I get the car back then pop the hood and see some coolant around the cap area. I press on the cap and fluid comes out. So I went and got a new cap and it seems fixed.
Then the service engine soon light comes on so I have Advance Auto check it and it says bank 2 too lean. I look the code up online and it says this is a common problem for Ford and Mercurys and to check the MAF sensor to see if it can be cleaned or replace it. So I buy some cleaner and it really helped. The car was kind of a dog before but I just thought that's the way it was since people onling complained that the V6 in the Cougars were not great performers plus it had 103,000 miles on it so I wasn't expecting a lot out of it but now it's much better performing

It's really weird as the sensor looked pretty clean but just had a little varnish looking stuff on one of the tiny wires that read the air flow. Those things must be damn sensitive and I guess that's why it's a common problem if a miniscule amount of dirt can make them read wrong.
Ok now back to home and work on the broken shitter. I bought a replacement toilet fill valve since the old one was obviously bad and leaking. I go to unscrew it from the bottom of the tank and it's like it is welded onto the water pipe. I try like hell and cuss like a sailor but it won't come off. I only have a pair of regular pliers that can fit on the nut and I need something else so I go to the store and get some channel locks. I try those but it doesn't help. I decide to break the damn thing off in a fit of rage and pieces go everywhere

I then decide, fuck it, that's the only way to get it out is to bust it enough so I can slide it out the hole in the bottom. I get it all busted up but the damn pipe connected to the bottom of it and going to the water valve is too long and won't let me get enough room to slide the valve out the bottom of the tank so I bend the shit out of the small pipe and finally get the valve out

Then I go to Lowes and buy the replacement hose to replace the pipe and finally that's done.
Whew it's been a long day...
