Theatrical Release Date: 10/19/2007

For 30 days every winter, the isolated town of Barrow, Alaska is plunged into a state of complete darkness. It's a bitter time when most of the inhabitants head south. This winter, a mysterious group of strangers appear: bloodthirsty vampires, ready to take advantage of the uninterrupted darkness to feed on the remaining town residents. Barrow's Sheriff Eben (Josh Hartnett), his wife Stella (Melissa George), and an ever-shrinking group of survivors must do anything they can to last until daylight in '30 Days of Night.'

Anyone going to check this one out?

The tv spots look badass but I'll wait for the DVD release.

I'm not sure if this sounds stupid, but a friend of mine is good friends with a well known Star Wars artist by the name of Matt whom I have met on a couple of occasions. He told me that Matt's long time girlfriend was stolen by the man who wrote 30 Days of Night. To make a long story short, this tool who wrote the story for the film has made death threats to Matt even though Matt has not tried to get his girlfriend back. Matt went with my friend to the San Diego Comic Con this year and Matt approached the man to try to bury the hatchet. Apparently before Matt could say anything the guy shouted obscenities and pushed him down in front of a lot of onlookers.

Anyway, bottom line is the guy is a tool and because he is involved in this film I have no intentions of paying to see it in the theater or on DVD. Personally I hope it flops.

That's fucked up Savini and I'd be out too in a similar situation.
As it is, Circuit City has some dvds on sale for $7.50 last week that came with $8.50 of movie cash so I grabbed both Underworlds. The trailer looked cool and I try to support R rated horror whenever I can. Getting a couple dvds for free or less was too good to pass up. big grin

This sounds like a pretty good idea for a movie.
I don't blame you for not going to see it though Savini, that guy sounds like an asshole.

That is screwed up Savini. Don't know if I'll make it to the theater to see this one regardless.
