ok, my first taste of Tivo came in the form of the DirecTV Tivo. it was great. I almost immediately ran out and bought one more. then fast forward a few years and I'm browsing on ebay. I come across a standalone Tivo with a Lifetime certificate. it was kinda pricey at 800.00 but it was a dual tuner model so I figure what the hell, I'll give it a try. I get the unit and get it up and running and the first thought I get is "man, this thing blows away the DTV version". I end up looking around ebay again and low and behold i see it. the mother of all Tivos, the Series 3 complete with a Lifetime sub. it was at an even higher price of 1200.00. I don't care. I need another Tivo fix. I buy it. when my package arrives I'm so excited that I can barely contain myself. this thing is great. even better than I expected. flash forward to today and I now own:

2 DTV Tivos
1 Series 2 Single Tuner standalone Tivo with a Lifetime sub (upgraded with a 400gb drive)
1 Series 3 with a Lifetime sub
2 Series 2 Dual Tuner Tivos with Lifetime subs (one with a 300gb drive and one with a 500gb drive)

so for me, if you couldn't already tell, I would have to say i love Tivo.

I just bought myself another Series 3 with Lifetime. now I need to find myself a 750Gb HDD.

Well ours isn't a "TIVO" but we do love our HD DVR. We just need to get it hooked up to our network as the beta Video on Demand for Directv is in effect right now.
