I just read another one of those upconverting dvd player threads at horrordvds. I think this was atleast the 15th topic on the subject there. it just bugs me to no end when people will say stuff like "an upconverting player turns your dvds into 1080p". now I have an upconverting player as well so I know that they do make discs look better but it just doesn't compare to HD. you cannot take 480i/p and magically turn it into 1080p. the resolution is just not there. now, it may just really bug me since I own HD-DVD/Blu-Ray and can visually see the difference between real HD and upconverted SD on my tv where many people have not seen any real HD other than what is on display at Best Buy(which is usually pretty crappy on the tvs torch mode). does this bother anyone else or am I just a weirdo freak?  hum nervous

Although I don't doubt that an upconverted DVD doesn't even come close to comparing to a true high definition format, it is enough to satisfy me until this retarded format war comes to an end. I refuse to spend good money on a format that might have a relatively short shelf life. Now if they introduced a player under $150.00 for either HD-DVD or Blue-ray, then I might consider taking an early plunge.
