A special Friday edition of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (households: 3.3/7, #T5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) and the premiere of "Nashville" (households: 1.7/3, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11) gave FOX (households: 2.5/5, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) a disappointing third place on the night.

More troubling, or disastrous really, was that "Nashville's" 1.0 rating in the key demographic was below anything and everything FOX tried in the Friday, 9:00/8:00c hour last season, "beating" out a repeat of "Bones" (1.1) on 5/4/07.

I turned this on for about 2min. and quickly turned it off. judging by the ratings above so did everyone else.

Sounds like a shitter.

I have been getting into Rock of Love with Brett Michaels. I usually don't like those kinds of shows but this one was pretty good. Next week is the last show.
I still can't believe he got rid of Sam who was a sweet heart. Damn fool.

Fox's Nashville is first cancellation of season

BY: Actress Archives | Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Breaking news this morning - just two days into the fall season and all of those "which show will get canceled first?" pools are done as Fox has pulled Nashville from its schedule after only two episodes. MediaWeek's Marc Berman is reporting that the second-week ratings for Nashville were so bad that the network decided not to give it a third chance, announcing this morning that the reality hybrid won't air again. On Friday night, Nashville landed only 2.18 million viewers and a stunningly low 0.9 rating/3 share among adults 18-49. No one cared about Nashville and, even more importantly, the key advertising demographic was way too low for Fox to justify keeping the show on the air.

Fox has yanked Nashville from the fall schedule effective immediately and the hour will be filled by, get this, repeats of K-Ville, the Anthony Anderson and Cole Hauser show that airs on Monday nights after Prison Break. Fox is lucky that they'll have a high profile fill-in after two weeks of K-Ville repeats when the Major League Baseball post-season kicks in on October 12th. Fox will also debut The Next Great American Band on Friday nights with a two-hour debut on October 19th. That gives them until probably November 2nd to really figure out what to do with the timeslot once occupied by Nashville.

Nashville may be the first casualty but there are a few other shows already on life support. The CW's Gossip Girl really needs to perform tonight in its second-week, after a lackluster first week, or it could be in trouble. K-Ville seems to be holding its Prison Break lead-in, so that will probably stay put and Cane and Reaper had good first nights last night, but Chuck, The Big Bang Theory, and Journeyman all disappointed on Monday night, meaning that many people will be watching their second-week numbers closely. Tonight sees the debut of three more very high profile new shows - Dirty Sexy Money, Life, and Bionic Woman. We'll see which ones can make it out unscathed and which will go the way of Nashville. An interesting stat to keep in mind - two out of three freshman shows don't get a sophomore season. And, lately, if you're not a hit right away, you don't even get a third episode. Ask Nashville.
