I used to buy new release games like they were going out of style. Dropping 60.00+ on games left and right is no longer an option for me. I've slowed down to the point that I only get a few full priced new release games a year. This year the only games I've grabbed at or near full price are:

Alan Wake - paid 40.00 with coupon
Split/Second - paid 46.00 with coupon - came with a 10.00 credit for a future purchase
Crackdown 2  - paid 46.00 with coupon - 10.00 credit included here as well

The above were found slightly on sale plus each had the coupon applied which helped on the cost. The only game this year I've ordered/purchased at full price is Dead Rising 2: CE and who knows, Amazon may end up putting it on sale at some point before release day. Of course if the regular edition gets a major sale price before release this order for the CE is toast. All the other games I've grabbed have been older releases that have gone through a few price reductions. The most expensive game I purchased that wasn't a new release was Grid which was 30.00. I also ended up getting the game Deadly Premonition for a whopping 6.00 when the coupon from Crackdown 2 was applied to the order.

I usually never get to a game immediately after I buy it with the exception of a select few so the waiting no longer bothers me. I just recently started InFamous and that game was released how long ago?

So do you grab most of your games at new release pricing these days or do you wait until the price drops hit?

I wait till the prices drop or get them used in some cases if I even end up buying the game in the first place. Would only buy a brand new game if it was something I wanted really bad.
